daily program from March 23-29, 2025
New York in a small group - the program
In addition to the supporting program, this guided city trip offers plenty of space for your own explorations. We are happy to advise you in advance and on site. And of course we also offer additional program modules ourselves.
Supporting program for the New York city trip from March 23-29, 2025
Sunday, March 23, 2025: Individual arrival and first meeting in the hotel's rooftop bar
Arrival is individual. Natascha Dauster will be happy to assist you, advise you and book your flight and room. In the evening (we will announce the time at short notice) we officially begin with an information and get-to-know-you evening in the rooftop bar of the “50 Bowery” hotel.
Monday, March 24, 2025: Half-day tour to the beginnings of New York
At 10 a.m. we start with a tour of the Financial District, where New York City began 400 years ago as the settlement of "New Amsterdam". We walk from Battery Park to Wall Street and Trinity Church. We pass the Charging Bull, Stone Street, the first paved street in New York, and the city's first skyscrapers. After a short break we continue towards the government district with the opulent town hall and many courts. Just behind it is Chinatown with Little Italy. In the 19th century, these districts were the center of one of New York's most notorious slums. Here we are in the middle of Five Points, the district that Martin Scorsese revived in his film "Gangs of New York". We are back at the hotel shortly after 2 p.m. If you are hungry then there are many options on site to organize lunch or a small snack.
Before the tour at breakfast and after the tour we are there for you with information, help with bookings and other tips.
As an additional option, we are offering a walk through the Lower East Side today at 4 p.m., including a visit to a hidden bar. Afterwards, anyone who wants can join us at the “Freemans” restaurant. Cost of the tour without food and drinks: 20 USD per person.
Tuesday, March 25, 2025: Tour from Ground Zero via the High Line to Greenwich Village
Today we start the half-day program at 1 p.m. at Ground Zero. If you want, you can visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island or the 9/11 Museum beforehand. We walk from Ground Zero to the Hudson River and take the ferry to Hudson Yards, one of New York's newest districts, which dominates the skyline to the west with its skyscrapers. The Vessel, which has now become a tourist attraction, is part of Hudson Yards. The High Line also begins there: a former elevated railway line that has been converted into a park. We walk south along this until we reach Chelsea Market and Little Island. Here we treat ourselves to a short break. Then we go on to Greenwich Village with its small-town charm and typical terraced houses.
As an additional evening program, we offer a concert in one of the legendary jazz cellars in Greenwich Village. Entrance tickets cost around 40 USD. Drinks are expected on site.
Wednesday, March 26, 2025: We explore Midtown
We start at Grand Central Terminal, walk past the New York Public Library and Bryant Park to Times Square and then on to Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue. From there, the route leads past the Plaza Hotel into Central Park. The history of Central Park is a piece of the city's history. We look at its most beautiful corners together and end the tour at "Strawberry Fields", the memorial garden for John Lennon.
- If you want, you can book a MoMA tour in the afternoon. Cost including admission is 45 USD
- The two particularly recommended observation decks “Top of the Rock” and “SUMMIT ONE Vanderbildt” can also be found in Midtown.
- In the evening, we book a table together at the Refinery Rooftop Bar for those who want to. In addition to the iconic view of the Empire State Building and drinks, you can also have dinner there. Take a look at the menu: https://refineryrooftop.com/menu/
Thursday, March 27, 2025: Full day individual program
There is no small group city tour today. This means it is time for shopping, visiting museums or simply wandering the streets of New York. If you would like to book one of our program options, you have the following options:
- MoMA – guided tour (2h), time by arrangement (45.- USD)
- Trip to Bushwick in Brooklyn. This neighborhood is known for its extraordinary street art. (20 USD)
- 6:30 p.m.: A harbor tour on a small boat with panoramic windows. At this time you will sail into the sunset and it will be dark when you arrive. The view of Manhattan from the water with the city lights is simply unbeatable. (Tickets 95 USD)
Friday, March 28, 2025: Tour to Brooklyn
In the morning we take the subway straight to Brooklyn. We start the tour in North Williamsburg, a hip neighborhood with small cafes and shops. The newest addition there is Domino Park on the East River, designed by the same architect as the High Line Park. We continue to the south of Williamsburg, to an ultra-orthodox Jewish residential area, and from there to DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade offers a wonderful view of the skyline of downtown Manhattan. The entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge is just around the corner. We end the tour at around 2 p.m. at the Time Out Market, where there is something to eat for every taste. Afterwards, it is a good idea to walk independently across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan. If you want, you can join us in the evening and attend a concert at Carnegie Hall. The program there has not yet been finalized.
Saturday: Individual return day
We will all meet again at the hotel after breakfast to say goodbye. We have no plans for the day, as the departure times will vary greatly.
